Here is some information in your hands for some Spring/Summer 2024 programs as soon as possible.
Grassroots/Travel:
We will once again offer Grassroots/Travel options for the prospects in the Tri-State area. With the change in the NCAA evaluation calendar to reduce the number of non-scholastic views in 2024, we have not felt it was important to rush the start of the travel season. We will host our first evaluation on Friday, March 15 at St. Benedict School 1328 Lincoln Ave Evansville, In 47714. Age Group Times: 9th & 10th – 5 pm – 6:30 pm | 11th & Unsigned Seniors – 7 pm – 8 pm. We will host a secondary evaluation for those who are unable to make it on Friday.
We would encourage you to share the evaluation details with all players who may wish to utilize the sport to open some doors to college. Again, due to the new NCAA calendar, we are not rushing this season along. Our HS teams will likely play one event in April, two in May (NCAA Live Period 1), off the month of June for school team basketball and then play in two events in July (NCAA Live Period 2). Keep in mind, for the first time, there are TWO NCAA evaluation periods on the scholastic side being on June 21st (Noon) and June 28th (6 pm). Our goal for the 2024 HS season is to play games only when it is vital to be doing so.
Once teams are formed, they will practice weekly. We will encourage outside individual skill development and instead of playing in several non-certified events, we will practice more and invite similar programs to our area for scrimmage games. We will utilize our normal grassroots coaches who have been around the program for 12 years, but this year, we hope to have more HS Coach volunteers in the gyms working with the prospects in the area. Several Pocket City Basketball alumni plan to volunteer time this season as well.

Spring Invitation League:
We are excited to bring back our Spring Invite League for year two. We will invite 85 players to compete in this league. If you wish to have one of your players receive an invite, please respond to this email. We have already invited around 15-20 players. Spots are very limited for this league and it will sell out. Please see the information below for further details. We are primarily looking to have rising Freshmen – rising Seniors participate in the league.
All registrations are completed on an individual basis. Invite only registration.
Costs: Regular Fee: $95 per participant
Participants will receive a jersey to keep to be worn for all league contests.
The Pocket City Spring Invite League will observe all IHSAA guidelines. No more than three players from the same high school will be placed on the same league team. No more than nine players will be on the majority of league teams. All teams are balanced out for competitive play. ALL TEAMS WILL HAVE
MULTIPLE COACHES ON THE BENCH EACH WEEK.
TEAM ROSTERS WILL CHANGE EACH WEEK. Players will be randomly drawn on Friday and communicated out each Saturday morning. ALL REGULAR LEAGUE GAMES ARE PLAYED ON TUESDAY OR WEDNESDAY NIGHTS.
Collegiate Exposure: Several Division III, NAIA and Junior Colleges will be invited to be in attendance.
Various scouting services will be in attendance.
